Delaware
Division of the Arts The Delaware Division of the Arts is
dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts to enhance the
quality of life for all Delawareans. In addition to providing
funding for arts programming, the Division supports the integration
of the arts into community life and serves as a resource for arts
information statewide. This program is made possible, in part,
by grants the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated
to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership
with the National Endowment for the Arts. For additional information

Second
Street Players operates as a year-round community theatre
group dedicated to providing quality productions to the people
of southern Delaware. The group presents primarily traditional
adult and children's theatre productions and some locally created
and more experimental works. In addition to providing live theatre
for patrons, the Player's productions provide the talented members
of the community with an outlet for their creative abilities.
The Second Street Players also serves as a vehicle for education
among all members of the community for the enrichment and understanding
of the performing arts.
Possum
Point Players Formed in 1973, this nonprofit community theatre
group was formed in 1973 to bring live theatre to Sussex County.
The goal of the Possum Point Players is to present a regular season
of plays, concentrating first and foremost on quality and diversity.
The theater's programs are geared towards reaching out to all
segments of the community to offer entertaining, educational and
training opportunities related to the theater.
Mid
Atlantic Arts Foundation is a private, non-profit organization
that celebrates, promotes, and supports the wealth and diversity
of the region's arts resources and works to increase access to
the arts and culture of the region and the world. Created in 1979
to encourage continued development of the arts and to support
arts programs on a regional basis, MAAF is dedicated to growth
and appreciation of the arts throughout the region, the nation
and the world. Foundation programs encourage the creation of new
works of art, promote new relationships and ideas within the performing
arts community, build new audiences, advocate for the arts in
education and connect the arts and artists of the mid-Atlantic
region to the rest of the nation and the world.
National
Endowment for the Arts The National Endowment for the Arts
enriches our Nation and its diverse cultural heritage by supporting
works of artistic excellence, advancing learning in the arts,
and strengthening the arts in communities throughout the country.
Delaware
Music School The Delaware Music School has been bringing the
joy and benefits of music education to southern Delaware for more
than 20 years. A non-profit organization with several branches,
DMS offers quality private and group instrumental and vocal lessons,
plus a thriving early childhood curriculum starting at birth.
DMS provides financial assistance to many of its students, including
those enjoying DMS provided outreach programs in schools, daycares
and social services organizations and tuition-free grants to children
with special needs through the Delaware Foundation for Retarded
Children.
The
Milford Community Band is
a true community band with membership that ranges from middle
school students to senior citizens. We have about 50 members and
play more than 25 free concerts per year. The Dance Band and the
Dixieland Band are part of the community program.
Henlopen
Theater Project is a professional Equity company which produces
an annual season of musical and non-musical theatrical work, ranging
from world premieres to classics. Its mission is to present professional
theater and educational performing arts programs of high quality
and diverse interest that both enlighten and entertain the communities
of Southern Delaware.
Coastal
Concerts is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to bringing
the finest classical music to audiences in Lewes by presenting
renowned performers to the coastal communities in the fall, winter
and spring months. Coastal
Concerts is focusing on cultural enrichment during the less busy
times of year. Residents and visitors alike are welcomed and encouraged
to support Coastal Concerts and enjoy the fine music.
The Delaware
Symphony Orchestra seeks to enrich the quality of life through
live orchestral music.

Paul
Fleckenstein, our frequent concert organist and Mikado guest pianist, has served as the Organist and Director of Music at Wilmington's Westminster Presbyterian Church. He has performed extensively as a solo organ recitalist, organ and piano accompanist, conductor and professional choral singer. A few of his concerts have included the Washington Cathedral, St. Patrick's Cathedral and St. Thomas Church in New York City and Boston's Trinity Church.
